Volunteer at Gateway
Thank you for your interest in serving at Gateway! We appreciate each of our workers and will do our best to create a positive experience for you! Team members in most areas are scheduled to serve approximately once every four weeks, and additional serving opportunities may be requested for special events like our annual Pursuit Conference, Christmas productions/events, Christmas Eve, Good Friday, etc. We appreciate the willingness of many to serve in whatever way they can.
Team Descriptions
Set Up Team
Our setup team plays a vital role in creating a welcoming space each Sunday by setting up chairs and arranging the auditorium. This team arrives early to ensure that our worship space is ready for everyone to gather comfortably. Their work behind the scenes helps create an environment where people can focus on connecting with God and each other. It's a hands-on way to serve that makes a big impact on our Sunday experience!
Hospitality Team
Our hospitality team is here to make everyone feel at home! From greeting guests with a warm smile to serving coffee and helping with directions, they create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere each Sunday. This team is dedicated to making sure everyone who walks through our doors feels valued and connected. It’s all about showing God’s love through simple acts of kindness and making Gateway a place where people feel they belong.
Production Team
Our tech team provides all technical aspects for our weekend experiences and special events, including sound, lighting, cameras, slide and video presentations, and production directing. Although these areas of serving are largely in the background, they make the wheels turn, and they are valuable and vital to the effectiveness of our experiences and events. Training is provided for all areas of serving.
Music Team
Our music ministry is an integral part of our weekend experiences. There is opportunity to be a part of the band, including electric guitar, drums, bass, acoustic, keyboard & piano and other areas. We also have vocalists that need to be comfortable singing on stage and have experience singing parts, is preferred. We are looking for instrumentalists who will play at all of our locations as some actually travel and play at all three. We provide chord charts and vocal rehearsal tracks for all new songs. We host bi-monthly team culture days so you can get to know other members of our team as it is the largest team at the church.
Photography Team
Our church photography team is to capture the heart of Gateway and share it with our community, especially through social media. By highlighting moments from services, events, community involvement and everyday church life, we hope to inspire, inform, and invite others into what God is doing here. Through photos, we can celebrate the people, connections, and experiences that make Gateway a welcoming place for everyone.
Children's Ministry Team:
Our children’s ministry has programs for children infant to Grade 5 on Sunday mornings and for ages 3 - 10 on Wednesday evenings. There are many opportunities to be involved including welcoming new guests and assisting parents at check-in, leading activities or games and small group leader on Wednesday evenings. Of course there is the fun of building relationships and having fun with children who attend our programs!
Student Ministry Team:
Gateway Student Movement is here to help students (Grades 6 - Grade 12/12+) awaken to and act upon the call of God in their lives. There are different areas you can serve within our program. Whether it’s on the setup, sound and tech team, as a grade group leader, or a GSM Sunday teacher, we can find the right fit for you!
Kitchen Team
Food is often an integral part of community. Our food services team is all about bringing people together over good food and warm hospitality. Their dedication ensures that everyone feels cared for and comfortable, making every gathering a bit more special. By serving through food, they play an essential role in fostering community and showing love in practical, heartfelt ways.
Prayer Team
Our prayer team is dedicated to supporting our church community through prayer, offering encouragement, and standing alongside others in faith. Whether it's lifting up individual needs, praying over church events, or interceding for our community, our team is here to seek God’s guidance, healing, and strength for all. We believe that prayer is powerful, and our purpose is to help foster a deeper connection to God and one another through prayer.
